About me

I am a pain researcher, clinical psychologist and a neuropsychologist. I conducted research at the Centre for Research on Pain, Disability, and Social Integration at McGill University where I studied how catastrophic cognitions about pain, and perceptions of injustice in relation to injury or painful condition influence pain intensity, physical disability, mental health, and occupational outcomes. I also conducted experimental research that helps elucidate the pathways by which psychological variables influence pain experience and pain expression. I continue to collaborate with my colleagues in pain research

In addition to my primary research on pain, I also enjoy an active collaboration with researchers who study mental health and adjustment outcomes in immigrant populations, and researchers who study the neuroplasticity of the brain.

My research has been generously funded by:
Institute de Recherche Robert-Sauvé en Santé et Sécurité du Travail
Vanier Canada Graduate CIHR Scholarship
Fonds de Recherche sur la Société et la Culture
Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council

I am also grateful for travel support provided by the Quebec Pain Research Network, Canadian Pain Society and International Association for the Study of Pain .
